Dear Liz and Jane,
Just a brief history of Sophie’s start with reading difficulties….and of course, thanks to Wise Eye’s help, how she has improved!
“Sophie’s learning difficulties started in Grade 1 (aged 6). In Grade 3 and 4 (aged 8 and 9) she attended remedial school, where her problems were helped to a degree and her reading improved. In Grade 5 (aged 10), she returned to mainstream school and was just about coping with her reading and studies. She then had a head injury at the end of Grade 5. She did not seem to progress very much after that, in fact in some areas, regressed, including reading. We then continued to muddle through a repeat of Grade 5 and then Grade 6 and 7.
She then moved to high school to Grade 8. Her reading was still exceptionally slow and she hated to read, never mind reading out aloud in class. She continued to muddle through her studies.
We then heard of “Wise Eye” through a teacher and we decided to give it a chance. When Sophie had her first Visagraph, it showed her eyes were not moving together and her reading efficiency was of that of a Grade 2. We decided to commence the six week programme …. much against Sophie’s wishes! Any child who has struggled to read does not want to attend a formal reading programme. With some persuasion, Sophie started her course. She religiously completed her homework each day and attended each session, three times a week.
Halfway through the programme, Sophie’s attitude to reading changed and her confidence flew. Her teacher phoned me in week four and announced that Sophie had “stood up and read in class”. A small miracle to say the least!
At the end of the course, Sophie had another Visagraph test and it showed her reading age had improved to a Grade 13 level. She was thrilled, as we all were.
I can’t thank Liz and Jane from Wise Eye enough, for all the help and patience shown to Sophie. But of course the real “star” of the show is Sophie herself, for without her hard work and perseverance, this incredible improvement would never have happened.
I would recommend Wise Eye to anyone who has reading difficulties. The initial test is free, so you have nothing to lose and everything to gain!
Thanks again, from a very grateful mother.
