The Wise Eye Reading Programme is suitable for readers of all age groups and has both English and Afrikaans reading programmes available.
Wise Eye is not just another Reading Programme !
We scientifically measure and graphically display our progress and results!
We make use of a Visagraph, an infrared tracking, reading and recording instrument which takes 120 readings per second.
We record and graphically show you:
- The total number of times the eyes paused while reading;
- The total number of reverse direction (right to left) movements made;
- The average length of time (in parts of a second) the eyes paused or fixated;
- The reading rate in words per minute for the countable part of the text;
- The reading rate with comprehension;
- The collaboration between both eyes
- and much more!
This enables us to:
- Determine the correct level at which the student should commence reading therapy;
- Scientifically measure progress made with the reading therapy.
The Wise Eye reading programme develops all the sub-skills needed to read effectively.

- Phonemic awareness: Understanding that words are made up of individual sounds;
- Understanding that the letters in the alphabet stand for sounds: Alphabetic Principle;
